Mill Valley Real Estate Agent Pleads Guilty to Swindling Elders
Here's some sad news that came out today. A Marin real estate agent is facing a possible eight years in prison after pleading guilty to eight felony counts involving the embezzlement of almost $1.5 million from six people. The Marin County prosecutor announced that Kirtikumar Menon pled guilty to the charges, which included forgery and embezzlement from the elderly, on Monday.
Menon allegedly swindled the victims using a series of complex real estate deals carried out by his Arentum Real Estate and Mortgage, Inc., which is located in Mill Valley.
Menon also worked as a Marin County Auditor when the crimes were committed, though County officials say he had no access to county funds.
