CitiesSan Anselmo has been moving up on the desirability scale for the last few years. Sun-drenched, laid back San Anselmo epitomizes the Marin lifestyle. It has an eclectic mix of business professionals, entertainment folks (including George Lucas) artists and entrepreneurs. Downtown is scattered with café’s, restaurants and is the antique shop capital of Marin. Occasionally you will find a “fixer” house for under $800,000, but expect to pay more for a starter home in decent shape. Hill-side properties with views are much more expensive but the homes in the Yolanda Park area (in the flats) are as if not more expensive that those in the hills. Except to pay way above the median price for a nice partially updated home in San Anselmo.
